Safeguarding- Are your children safe?

UK legislation is very clear that the duty to ‘safeguard and promote the welfare of children who are pupils at the school’ is held by the governing body.

The content of this safeguarding and child protection training reflects that of the statutory guidance document ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (2016). It clarifies exactly what must be in place in order to fulfil the safeguarding duty.

The aims of this short course are to brief school and college governors about their statutory duties relating to safeguarding and child protection, and then to advise governors on how to go about fulfilling those duties. Participants will be offered a useful safeguarding self-audit tool to take away.

Enable attendees to identify safeguarding issues in any environment, giving them a full understanding of how they should respond.

All members of the governing body of any education provider, including the governors of all schools and colleges.
